DescriptionThe South Fort George Family Resource Centre (FRC) is a neighborhood based facility that offers programs and activities to promote the health and well being of families and individuals of all ages and incomes in a friendly, family-centered environment.  
 
Our Family Resource Centre takes pride in providing programs and services specific to the needs of our community. We conduct community surveys, encourage feedback from our clients and research opportunities that will enhance our community members of all ages! We make every effort to provide free programs to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to learn, share and grow.  
 
The South Fort George Family Resource Centre is made up of a partnership of School District #57, Ministry of Children and Family Development, Northern Health and the City of Prince George and coordination of the centre is by The Prince George and District Elizabeth Fry Society. The South Fort George Family Resource Centre is open to all families in Prince George and areas  
Many family programs focus on young children (ages 0-6 yrs) and their parents/caregivers however, as we grow, we continue to look at opportunities to provide activities for all ages.  
 
Current FRC Programs/Activities/Supports include: 
 
* Power Play Free Drop in Program for children 0-6yrs old and caregivers  
offered four times a week, call for hours and more info. 
 
*Clothesline Program (Free Store) - Gently used donated clothing and misc. 
household items provided by the community to anyone in need of support. 
 
*Family Resource Centre Preschool: ECE Licensed, Free to anyone who 
qualifies for subsidy, 30 months - 5 yrs of age. 
 
*Northern Health Dental - Community Prevention Programs: Primary focus is to 
stop early childhood cavities. We work with families and caregivers of young 
children through a FREE fluoride varnish prevention program. Call for more info. 
 
*Structured for Success Program: Works with families affected with suspected or 
confirmed Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD.) Referrals are accepted  
from partner agencies such as MCFD, Northern Health and PGNFC 
 
*Northern Interior Children First Initiative: is an innovative community directed 
initiative committed to strengthening and supporting children, youth and their 
families. Contact 250-565-7331 for more information.  
 
*Baby's New Beginnings: is a pregnancy outreach program that provides health and social services support, to at-risk pregnant women who do not typically access traditional prenatal services. Drop - In 12:00 - 4:00 pm, Mon-Fri. 
 
*Northern Health Clinic: Child Immunization Clinics - call 250-565-7381 
for an appointment  
 
*Ministry of Children & Family Development (MCFD): Provides supports and 
services for families and children experiencing challenges in their lives. 
 
*Free Lending Library: provides the community with gently used books donated by the community. Everyone is welcome to choose books and can exchange a book at any time. Donated puzzles & board games are put out in the library when available. We gladly accept book donations of family oriented content.  
 
*Affordable Rental facilities including: 
Community kitchen, Gymnasium; Meeting Rooms; Classroom
