DescriptionThe Government of British Columbia recognizes that not all people with disabilities are able to seek employment. For those with disabilities who are not able to work, the Ministry of Social Development provides the security of income assistance along with enhanced medical coverage. This is referred to as Persons With Disabilities Assistance (PWD Assistance) and can be applied for through your local Employment and Income Assistance office.
