| Description | Please Note: The only requirement needed to receive meals is that you must be referred by another person. Meals cost $4.10 each; this amount is passed on to Kiwanis Lodge to pay for meal preparation. Meals arrive hot and consist of a main course and dessert. Special diabetic diets and various preparations such as cut, minced & mashed, and "no-added-salt" are available. Menus are based on a "four-week rotation". We cannot make meal changes or substitutions to the menus. You are not required to have a meal every day, but we ask that you choose a repeating pattern. For example: if you have meals Monday, Wednesday, and Friday one week the pattern is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday every week. Volunteer drivers deliver meals from Monday to Saturday. If you require a Sunday meal we deliver two on Saturday and ask that you reheat the 2nd meal on Sunday. We also deliver on all statutory holidays. The Meals on Wheels Coordinator, Dawn Vavra (753-1300), is available from 9:00 am to noon Monday to Friday; if for any reason you need to cancel a meal, we ask that you call before noon of day the meal is to be delivered. We are unable to make meal changes after 12:00 noon. Your bill will be sent during the first week of each month, with a stamped, addressed, return envelope. Please pay with a cheque or money order for the amount on the bill and mail your payment in the envelope provided. | |||
