| Description | The Specialized Victim Assistance Program’s aim is to provide justice related information and support to victims of child sexual and physical abuse, adult sexual assault, spousal assault, criminal harassment, and other family violence who are involved in the criminal justice system. As well, they laise with Crown Counsel, police, Ministry of Child and Family Development, probation, and other community partners. They provide orientation of court procedures, court accompaniment, and assistance with forms. After the involvement in courts, referrals to counseling and other appropriate community agencies are provided. The program will also help in cases not yet reported to police. | |||
